Malin Bergquist Charities: Donation Made in Honor of Pittsburgh 100 Finalists for 2008
In its role as a sponsoring company of the Pittsburgh Business Times' 2008 "Pittsburgh 100" awards -- honoring the 100 fastest-growing privately held businesses in Southwestern Pennsylvania -- Malin Bergquist made a donation to the American Cancer Society in honor of each of the 100 finalists, and to be used for its children's library books initiative.
At the awards ceremony, held at Pittsburgh's venerable Duquesne Club, Business Times editor Lauren Lawley Head singled out the firm for making this gesture. John Garlow, president of Ford Business Machines -- the fastest-growing retail-wholesale-distribution business -- made an additional gift of $1,000 to add to the firm's fund.
