Draeger Safety Draeger Safety is the U.S.-based subsidiary of Dräger, based in Luebeck, Germany, and has been in Pittsburgh for 101 years, since 1908. Draeger is an international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology.

Its products such as air quality monitors, portable gas detectors, breathing masks and breathalyzers, protect, support and save lives by enabling people to breathe in inhospitable environments. Industries, hospitals, and governments use Draeger products to protect communities and public servants, including the City of Pittsburgh Fire Department which will protect Pittsburgh G-20 Summit participants and has been a Draeger customer since 1908.

Ralf Drews, CEO

Employing more than 120 in the Pittsburgh NAFTA headquarters and 10,000 worldwide in over 190 countries, Draeger is focusing on North America as a primary market.

This commitment to quality, reliability and innovation is the reason that across the Americas firefighters and mine rescue workers affectionately are known as “Drägermen.” Draeger continues to grow in NAFTA regions, acquiring offices in Texas, Canada, California and most recently, Mexico.
