Clarence W. Kearney is a partner with Malin Bergquist, Erie’s fastest-growing accounting firm, with offices also in Pittsburgh and Greensburg.
He has practiced as a CPA in Erie for more than four decades, and was a founding partner of Diefenbach Delio Kearney & DeDionisio which merged in mid-2007 with Malin Bergquist.
Clarence serves as a tax and business consultant to more than 100 businesses and 350 individuals in Northwest Pennsylvania. He has deep knowledge of manufacturing, wholesale and retail distribution, hotels and restaurants, professional services businesses including insurance, law, health care facilities and physicians and dentists.
During the past 40 years, Clarence has advised and assisted clients on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and reorganizations. He has prepared valuations of businesses for acquisitions, disposals and gift tax purposes. He has worked with clients and the Internal Revenue Service on tax matters extensively.
He also has served as an expert witness regarding divorce matters, lost income and valuation matters.
Clarence is a graduate of Gannon University and is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. He is Past President of The Erie Chapter of CPAs and the Sertoma Club of Erie. He currently is the Chairman of the Hamot Second Century Foundation and is the past Chairman of the Hamot Audit & Investment Committee and recently finished twelve years of service on the Hamot Health Foundation and Hamot Medical Center Boards.
Clarence is a Corporator at Corry Memorial Hospital in Corry, PA and a past member of the Board of Governors of The Kahkwa Club, where he served as its Treasurer for eight years. He has authored an article on tax planning in the Business Magazine of Erie's Manufacturer and Business Association and has been featured in a Hamot Health Foundation article headlined "On the Road to Philanthropy."
He is also a board member of Emergycare Ambulance Service and Life Star Helicopter in the Erie, PA area, and is a board director and treasurer of the “Roar on the Shore”, one of Erie's largest citywide events which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for hospitals and for military veterans and their families. He is an avid golfer and rider of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and has been profiled in the "Member Spotlight" of the Pennsylvania CPA Journal about his love of biking.
He has been married to Sandra G. Kearney, CPA for over 40 years.
