Mark A. Miner serves as chief marketing officer for Malin Bergquist, a Pittsburgh Business Times "Top 15" CPA firm and the largest CPA firm in Erie and Greensburg.
For more than 25 years, Miner has helped build the public image of professional service firms as they increasingly become key decision-makers at the table of business and civic leadership. In 2005, he was inducted into the prestigious "Renaissance Hall of Fame" of the Public Relations Society of America, the world's largest organization for PR professionals, in recognition of his trail blazing work in the fields of law, engineering and accounting.
With a mind focused on the "big picture," Miner helps reinforce a differentiating brand for Malin Bergquist, its niche practices and regional offices -- on the web, in the news media, on paper and through relationship building. Above all, he is recognized for an ability to think strategically, exercise sound judgment and execute tactically to “get things done.”

Culture of Marketing - Instill a deeper, more broadly accepted enthusiasm for marketing at a time when the firm doubled in size with two mergers and added a new footprint location.
Civic Leadership - Help guide the firm's economic development role with Western Pennsylvania civic leadership, supporting the firm's involvement with the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, British American Business Council and German American Business Circle. In 2009, he was a leader in the firm's sponsorship of the Pittsburgh G-20 Partnership and in 2008 with the firm's participation in Pittsburgh 250.
Firm Name Recognition - Spearhead a proactive campaign to raise awareness of -- and build credibility for -- the firm's name in its footprint cities, through news media coverage, annual reports, print and radio advertising, frequently updated website, and major corporate sponsorships.
Niche Branding - Drive branding and credentializing of the firm's top specialty niche practices via e-newsletters, web presence, press coverage, powerpoint "road shows," board placements and development of meaningful "A Lists" of prospects and referral sources for pursual of significant first meetings.
Personal Marketing Plans - Coach several dozen emerging CPAs to proactively build and manage their reputations and relationships with bankers, lawyers and actuaries.
MB Charities - Lead Malin Bergquist Charities, the firmwide fight against cancer in memory of three colleagues who died in 2007-2008, an effort that has raised tens of thousands of dollars for research and public education via the distribution of children’s books to 400 guidance counselors and public libraries. In 2009, the firm received the American Cancer Society's "Corporate Excellence Award" for all of Pennsylvania.
National Alliances - Help guide the marketing aspects of the firm's active, board-level memberships in CPAmerica International and the FD Alliance.
