Vincent F. Halupczynski is a partner with Malin Bergquist, Erie’s fastest-growing certified public accounting firm. As leader of the firm's not-for-profit niche, he provides clients with insights and solutions based on his more than two decades of wide-ranging audit, accounting and consulting experience.

In the not-for-profit area, Vinnie and his team serve more than 150 tax-exempt and not-for-profit clients each year. He serves on the board of directors of the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation. He is a long term member and Past President of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwestern Pennsylvania, helping it meet its mission of feeding the poor in Northwestern Pennsylvania. He also is a Past President of Community Shelter Services, where for a decade he has focused on sheltering and feeding the homeless, and overseeing intermediate housing programs. He also is a Corporator of Saint Vincent Health System. Vinnie has presented on various topics including “Demystifying Cost Allocations for Non Profit Organizations,” “Financial Responsibilities of Non-Profit Boards," “Financial and IRS Compliance for Non-Profit Organizations," "Are Your Ready for the New 990?" and "Fundraising Practices: Track it Right! Book it Right! Report it Right!"

As a lay advisor to the audit committee of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Vinnie attends audit committee meetings and advises the bishops in areas relating to fiscal governance, financial reporting, and internal control.

In addition, Vinnie leads the firm’s Employee Benefits Plan Audit Group which provides comprehensive audit and consulting services to employers that offer benefit plans. The group performs more than 60 plan audits each year, assisting clients with managing the risks and fiduciary duties of administering their employee benefit plans and if necessary in determining the appropriate corrections needed to maintain their plan’s compliance with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.

Vinnie also has 12 years of experience serving as partner- in-charge and concurring review partner on a number of public company clients.  His experience includes working directly on Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issues and handling engagements for companies in the information technology, environmental remediation, publication/distribution and insurance industries.

Vinnie’s clients include a broad base of leading Erie businesses, from manufacturing and publishing to life insurance, as well as municipal authorities and non-profit institutions. One of his primary strengths is the ability to quickly grasp and explain to clients the ramifications of highly technical regulations and standards in a variety of industries. He also is an expert regarding the dynamics of governance, finance policies and accounting procedures in the non-profit arena.

Vinnie is a member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the Lake Shore Country Club Finance Advisory Committee and is a member of the Erie Serra Club, which helps promote and foster vocations in the Catholic Church. He also has been a baseball coach in the Millcreek Youth Athletic Association for more than 10 years.

Vinnie is a 1979 graduate of Cathedral Prep in Erie, Pennsylvania. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a bachelor degree in accounting in 1983. In 1985, he received his CPA certification in Pennsylvania.
