Malin Bergquist's "Relay for Life" Teams Again Lead Walks in Erie and Pittsburgh-Greensburg

In loving memory of our late partners Mike Bergquist and Peter Delio, and Greensburg office manager Ruth Ann Deluzio, and in support of our families and friends impacted by cancer, Malin Bergquist Charities, Inc., is fielding two Relay for Life teams again this year in Erie and Pittsburgh/Greensburg. Both walks are sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

We have raised more than $60,000 since 2008, and are aiming even higher this year. The Malin Bergquist partners have committed again to providing matching funds. Would you consider joining us for a most meaningful cause?

Erie - The fifth annual walk will be held on July 23-24, 2010 at Fairview High School. Our team name is “Relay for Mike” in memory of our beloved friend and partner, Mike Bergquist, whose terminal 13-month illness, and untimely death on Aug. 3, 2007, provided the incentive to begin this great work.

We participated in our first Relay in 2006, just weeks after he was diagnosed. Although Mike is no longer with us, his spirit remains as we continue raising funds through the Relay. Tragically, since Mike’s passing, we have lost two other colleagues to cancer – Greensburg office manager Ruth Ann Deluzio in 2007 and Erie partner Peter Delio in 2008.

Although we walk in the name of Mike, we honor all of our fellow co-workers, family, and friends who are impacted by this disease. Please join us in our support of the American Cancer Society to find a cure to this horrific disease.
